Privacy Notice

We at Bell & Walsh take the safeguarding of your personal details and privacy seriously.  From May 2018 new guidance came into force which replaces the Data Protection Act 1998 called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is regulations on data protection and privacy for all in the EU. It basically tries to give individuals more control over how organisations use their data & information.  We’re a small company but we still abide by these rules.

In short, we want to keep things as simple as possible and only use information relevant for the services we provide.  We make and sell our own range of personalised artwork so when you order from us we only use the information you give us to provide our service.  So the information you give us is used to make the print, contact you about any queries related to that order and to post it to you.  We don’t give / sell your information to anyone else.  We use a 3rd party secure payment provider  – Stripe – to take payments so we don’t see any of your card details.

We will keep this Policy up to date and make changes if required.  Please come back and check this page from time to time to make sure you’re happy with our services.  By using our website you’re agreeing with our Policy.

Who we are:

Bell & Walsh is a small business based in Northumberland making and selling our own personalised artwork.  We don’t use other companies to make the prints – we do it ourselves, in house.    We work from our studio in Hexham at 2nd Floor, 5 Cattle Market, Hexham, Northumberland, NE46 1NJ.

What information is collected and how?

When you order from Bell & Walsh, it will be through our website.  We use the information on the order to make and send the print.  The information includes e-mail, name and address and the personalised message.  This information comes through to us and we process the order.  Payment for products is via a 3rd party secure provider – Stripe.  We don’t process or see any card details – that is done via the reputable 3rd party payment gateway (Stripe).  We don’t use the data in any other way, don’t sell it or give it to anyone else.  I file the order sheet as required for record keeping to enable me to do the accounts.

Our website allows you to create an account so you can re-order from us more quickly.  If you wanted to create an account, you have control over this and can log back in, edit or delete your information.  You can ask us to delete the account on your behalf too by contacting us at hello@project1-ptutt2o55e.live-website.com

Your IP address may also be collected as we use cookies on our site to monitor our website – which are popular pages, how many people visit our site.  Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website as it helps us understand which pages you find useful. A cookie does not give us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

Why is it being collected?

In order to make and send the print we need your e-mail (to confirm the order and get in touch if there are any queries related to the order), postal address (to send the print to) and the details of the personalise message for the print and that’s it!  I don’t share or give this to anyone else.  I don’t use the information for marketing.  In the future, we hope to set up a newsletter service for updates and special offers but you will have to opt into this and provide your consent – we will never just add you to a mailing list.  Full details will be provided when the newsletter service is offered.

Lawful Basis

In line with the GDPR, the lawful basis to process your data is based on ‘contract’.  In order to provide the products to you, I need the information to process the order.  When you place an order with us, we are entering into a contract – you pay for the products and I will make and send them to you.

Website Security

We use a 3rd party payment provider to take money.  We don’t see any card information – this is all done by the 3rd Party.  We use Stripe  – a global payment platform company company – details of their security can be found at https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe.

Even though we don’t process any financial information we’re still security conscious so our website has a secure socket layer (SSL) which google recommends for all websites so our site has a green padlock meaning it’s got an SSL certificate.

Affiliate Marketing

As of October 2019, we have started to use affiliate links to Amazon in some of our blog posts.  This means if you click on the link and buy something from Amazon (there is no extra cost to you), I may get earn a commission.   As of October 2019, I only use Amazon affiliate links so any other website I recommend or reference is purely because I like their stuff!  I do not earn money or receive gifts from any other site.
